Team Mammoth, led by Steve Govett, Gary Gait and Gavin Prout, highlighted the men’s elite division quarterfinal round of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout with a 17-5 rout of Team 21 on Sunday.
Govett, general manager of the Colorado Mammoth of Major League Lacrosse, and Gait, its head coach, each netted three goals, and Prout had two.
Also, the Go Fast team, co-coached by East High coach Jon Barocas, edged Merrill Lynch 15-13 behind five goals from Michael Donegar, an attackman at Johns Hopkins.
Go Fast will take on Lacrossewear/Jammin’ Salmon in a semifinal today at 1 p.m. Team Mammoth will face the GMH team today at 3 p.m.
