Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn told friends on a Mexican getaway they are getting married, Us Weekly reported. Aniston’s rep denies the report. Life & Style Weekly magazine reported Vaughn popped the question in Paris. An insider, quoted by contactmusic.com, said Aniston “already asked (former “Friends” castmate) Courteney Cox to be her matron of honor.”
Another wedding rumor had Martha’s Vineyard all abuzz. Rap mogul Jay-Z and longtime girlfriend Beyoncé were in Chappaquiddick, Mass., over the holiday weekend. Rumors spread that the couple were trying to rent a huge house for a wedding. Jana Fleischman, spokeswoman for Def Jam Records, told the New York Daily News’ Lloyd Grove: “They were there, but they didn’t get married.”
Amber Frey, the former mistress to Scott Peterson and the key witness in his murder trial, married law enforcement officer Robert Hernandez on Wednesday, People magazine reported. Frey’s attorney, Gloria Allred, confirmed the news, saying the couple, who met in October, plans to continue living in the Fresno, Calif., area. Hernandez proposed at Disneyland on a trip with Frey and her two children. Peterson was convicted of murdering his wife, Laci, and their unborn child and was sentenced to death. He remains on death row at San Quentin State Prison.
Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz are taking a romantic getaway to Paris to mend their tattered relationship, contactmusic.com reported. The couple have dated for three years, but veteran Hollywood gossip reporter Janet Charlton wrote they were breaking up. Timberlake’s publicist denied the report.
Heather Locklear has obscured her tattooed left hip that says “Richie,” a tribute to her estranged husband, Richie Sambora. Star magazine reports Locklear got a rose tattoo to obscure Sambora’s name.
Jeff Goldblum likes his women young. Us Weekly magazine reported the 53-year-old actor recently dined with Nicole Richie, 24. The magazine reported Richie has had a crush on Goldblum since she was 13 and the couple have plans to go out again.
Alexis Bledel and her “Gilmore Girls” co-star Milo Ventimiglia have broken up, People magazine reported. Ventimiglia’s reps confirmed the split. The couple dated for 3 1/2 years.
Police recently were called to the Malibu, Calif., home of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith because of loud screaming from the house. According to the New York Post’s Liz Smith, Griffith greeted the officers, laughing and explaining: “Oh, that’s Antonio yelling for Spain, in the World Cup.” Finalist France eliminated Spain in the round of 16.
Brian Heidik, winner of the 2002 “Survivor: Thailand,” was charged with battery and cruelty to animals Wednesday in Georgia. The Douglasville resident was arrested for allegedly shooting a puppy with an arrow, Atlanta TV station WSB-TV reported. Douglas County Chief Deputy Stan Copeland said Heidik’s wife, Charmaine, called in the incident and said her husband had shot the puppy and planned to shoot another one. Both dogs were turned over to animal control.
Katharine McPhee, blaming severe bronchitis and laryngitis, missed the kick-off of the 51-city “American Idols Live” tour Wednesday. The “Idol” runner-up was scheduled to perform at Manchester, N.H., with winner Taylor Hicks and other contestants Wednesday and Thursday, but her doctor, Sean Nassari, ordered “total voice rest,” The Associated Press reported. The tour comes to Denver on Sept. 5 at the Pepsi Center.
