CHICAGO-
About 69 percent of the flights leaving O'Hare International Airport took off on time in May, putting the airport in last place in the country for on-time departures, according to government data.
Midway Airport didn't fare much better, with 70 percent of flights leaving on time, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
O'Hare ranked 31st in on-time departures among the country's 31 busiest airports, while Midway came in 30th.
Arrivals were a bit more punctual at both airports–but not by much. Midway ranked 25th for the month with 77 percent of flights arriving on time. Midway came in first in May 2005 with 88 percent.
O'Hare ranked 28th in on-time arrivals for this May, at 68 percent.
In statistics released Monday, O'Hare returned to the top of the list of the nation's busiest airports, slipping past last year's winner, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta.
The statistics cover the first six months of the year.
