The Denver Black Arts Festival celebrates its 20th year by expanding to a five-day event, which began Wednesday and ends Sunday.

Today the festival features the Drum and Drill Team Exhibition at City Park on the corner of York Street and East 22nd Avenue. The event brings drumlines from around the region to perform free of charge.

Here are details on the rest of the weekend’s events:

What: Denver Black Arts Festival

Where: City Park at York Street and East 22nd Avenue

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, drum exhibition; 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a marketplace that includes exotic fabrics, traditional clothing, masks, carvings, baskets, jewelry, incense and oils from Africa.

What’s new: Expanded from three days to five days

Parade: The parade starts at 5 p.m. Saturday and will feature dancing, singing, marching and more. The parade runs up East 22nd Avenue from Washington Street to York Street.

Events include: Drum show, parade, music, poetry, food courts, marketplace

Don’t miss: The Drum and Drill Team Exhibition, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at City Park.
