Getting your player ready...

Every mountain enthusiast understands, trail running, hiking, backpacking and rock climbing require the appropriate – and most important, comfortable – footwear. With 70 years of heritage in Italy’s Dolomite Mountains, Scarpa understands that better than most. The renowned European ski boot makers moved to Boulder last spring, and are offering more options in their line of specialized mountain footwear, including the new Galactic trail runners (MSRP: $89), a running shoe with the beef to back up Scarpa’s mountain tradition. The Galactic makes use of a dual-density midsole that combines shock absorption with exceptional lateral support, stability and resistance in the heel. The sole offers exceptional grip on loose rock or muddy terrain, while a “Radiator Rib” on the heel assists with shock absorption and helps prevent pronation.
