Former University of Denver star Yemi Nicholson appears to be heading to Belgium to begin his professional basketball career.

According to eurobasket.com, the 6-foot-11 center has signed with Belgium’s Dexia Mons-Hainaut. Nicholson, the 2004-05 Sun Belt Conference player of the year, confirmed his signing in a phone interview but declined further comment. His agent, Andy Miller, could not be reached for comment.

Nicholson was not taken in the NBA draft last month and played sparingly in five games with the Sacramento Kings during the Las Vegas summer league.
