Landowner call
The Colorado Division of Wildlife has issued an appeal to landowners willing to lease access to prime habitat for pheasant and scaled quail as part of its Walk-In Access Program. Since its inception in 2001, this program has delivered approximately 150,000 acres each season to hunters who purchase a $20 passport, proceeds from which support the leasing program. The thrust of the program has been primarily for pheasants, but the agency is particularly interested in adding a strong scaled quail component for 2006. DOW is accepting applications through Aug. 25 and interested landowners should contact the nearest office.
