A 39-year-old Aspen man died today in a paraglider crash near Aspen, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Sam Esmiol was paragliding in the North Star Preserve at about 9:30 this morning when he went into a spin dive, witnesses told investigators.
Esmiol, who authorities said was an intermediate pilot, was pronounced dead at the scene.
