Renee Zellweger paid $2 million for a relatively modest four-bedroom, 2,200-square-
foot Hamptons farmhouse in 2003. But only recently has the actress started serious work on the East Hampton home. The New York Post’s Braden Keil reports Zellweger is adding a large pool, another building to house a garage and an apartment above, according to construction permits. According to Keil, word is she may be making more room for ex-husband Kenny Chesney, whom she may be seeing quietly again. The couple were married for only a few months before Zellweger got an annulment.
Meredith Vieira started her Hudson Valley remodel as a simple project. “It all started with a banquette. I wanted one,” the new “Today” show host told the New York Post. Suddenly the project grew into a full-blown reconstruction. Only one interior wall remains. Traditional Home magazine is assisting in the design to be featured in its September issue. Vieira added, “I had grown up with a house with a kitchen banquette, and I suddenly realized I missed it. Then (husband) Richard said he always wanted a fireplace, so we talked about renovating one room. We went from wanting a banquette and a fireplace for the kitchen to reorienting the whole house.”
Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have bought a Hollywood Hills home once owned by comic and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, ananova.com reported. The $2.3 million home is called “The Treehouse” because no one can see into the property (i.e. paparazzi). Neighbors include Kirsten Dunst and Matthew McConaughey. The couple recently sold their beachfront home in Sydney, Australia. Less than a year ago, the couple purchased a $3.6 million Boerum Hill townhouse in Brooklyn. Ledger was quoted as saying, “I didn’t want to raise my child in Hollywood.” The couple have a 9-month-old daughter, Matilda.
