Food Bank needs help: The Food Bank of the Rockies is seeking donated items for its Aug. 23 Celebrity
Bash fundraiser for the Children’s Nutrition Network, after thieves stole an autographed football,
two round-trip tickets on Frontier Airlines, autographed Daunte Culpepper, Adam Foote and Joe
Sakic jerseys, and other collectibles. The theft occurred during the charity’s recent move. Last year, the
auction raised $25,000 to help fight hunger in Colorado. | To help, contact Kristina Cordova at

Pablo’s Coffee: Independent neighborhood coffee shops aren’t just getting harder and harder to find, they’re getting less and less groovy. Good thing there’s Pablo’s Coffee to keep things real. Forget super-sweet Frappucino-like concoctions; this place is all about straight-up coffee. Rightfully proud of its rich, flavorful, unique small-batch roasts (which you can also buy online at pabloscoffee.com), it also offers plenty of coffee-friendly snacks. High cool-factor, but no “hipper-than-thou” attitude. Free parking in back.|630 E. Sixth Ave., 303-744-3323|Tucker Shaw

Black Sea Market: Tucked into an easy-to-miss corner of a strip mall on East Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road, this tiny grocer boasts a terrific selection of Russian, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian imports, including smoked fish, fresh meats, preserved figs, cookies galore, and most excellent, a spectacular array of delicious honeys. Don’t worry if you can’t read the labels (most of which are in Cyrillic), just ask for help. |7920 E. Mississippi Ave., 303-743-8163|Tucker Shaw
