
Ashley Nu’u, a 5-foot-10 setter on the University of Colorado volleyball team, was selected to the all-Big 12 Conference preseason team on Wednesday in a vote by coaches.The Buffaloes were picked to finish sixth in the coaches’ poll.
Nu’u, a graduate of Aurora’s Smoky Hill High School, was voted to the Big 12 first team after the 2005-06 season after ranking third in assists (13.16 per game). Nebraska, the defending NCAA runner-up, was picked No. 1.
Ferguson to face Whitaker in CWGA final
Stefanie Ferguson of The Broadlands Golf Club knocked out defending champion Becca Huffer 4 and 2 in the semifinals of the CWGA Match Play Championship at Lone Tree Golf Club. Ferguson will face Alison Whitaker, Mira Vista, today in the 36-hole championship. Whitaker eliminated Ashley Prust, Valley, 1-up on Wednesday.
CC hockey inks new radio broadcast contract
The Colorado College hockey team reached an agreement to have its games broadcast on the newly formed CC Tiger Sports Network next season, airing on KYZX FM-103.9, the school announced.
The agreement carries through the 2010-11 season. The station’s signal should cover the area from Castle Rock to Pueblo, and Calhan to Woodland Park.
