Two Colorado Mines and two Adams State players are among the 148 players selected for preseason Division II All-America honors by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette, which specializes in covering D-II football.

The Mines players are running back Bryan Florendo, a 5-foot-11 senior, and place-kicker Aaron Abel, a 6-0 junior. For Adams State, defensive end George Holley, a 6-3 senior, and guard Cory Karpilo, a 6-2 junior, received the notice. Also, Fort Lewis safety Reed Duvall, a 5-11 senior, was named to the defense.

Colorado Eagles re-sign two, add goalie

The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League Thursday re-signed defenseman Jason Lundmark and forward Steve Haddon and signed rookie goaltender Stephan Siwiec.

Lundmark, 21, played in 63 of 64 regular-season games in 2005-06, scoring seven goals. Haddon, also 21, was added to the Eagles’ roster for the playoffs and played in three games. Siwiec, 23, played four seasons at Boston University, where he served primarily as a backup goaltender.
