The second Boulder International Fringe Festival continues through Aug. 28.
Here are selected events of the more than 50 set to take place over the next three days:
Friday
6 p.m.: “Things Can Sparkle” Molly Jaeger of Portland, Ore., offers a quirky look at one misfit’s struggle to understand her place in the world. At the Commons Community Room in the Boulder Co-Op Market, 1904 Pearl St. (also 6:30 p.m. Sunday).
10 p.m.: “Something Is Rotten” Buntport Theater’s puppeted version of “Hamlet.” At the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St. (also 3 p.m. Sunday).
Saturday
8 p.m.: “Feather” Two brothers, one a serial killer, return to their childhood home and wrestle with the insidious nature of violence within one family’s unspoken history. By Boulder’s Lights Up Productions. At the Dairy Center.
8 p.m. : “w/e” One actor from Toronto’s Echoplay Theatre shows how two bruised, broken and barely conscious people connect. At the Co-Op Commons (also 2:30 p.m. Sunday).
8:30 p.m. “Dance of Illusion” Roland Sarlot & Susan Eyde of Tucson’s Magic Dance Theater take a wild journey as they escape a spear-filled basket, swallow razorblades and free hundreds of paper butterflies. At the Dairy (also 9 p.m. Sunday).
Sunday
3-5:30 p.m.: “The Faces of Madness: Masks in Theatre and Beyond” Italian mask master Giovanni Fusetti guides his audience on a comprehensive journey into the world of modern theater masks and their many archetypes. Boulder Public Library, 1000 Canyon Blvd.
8-11 p.m. Sunday: “Erik Deutsch and Friends” The Brooklyn pianist returns to Colorado to perform new musical compositions with drummer Allison Miller, who has worked with Natalie Merchant. At the Laughing Goat, 1709 Pearl St.
Also: Plenty of dance, music, film and visual-art displays. Each night ends with the lighthearted daily “C.R.A.B.” session, a 10 p.m. wrap-up and “talk show” at the Laughing Goat.
