Brinkley’s son, Jack, 11, missed a big Little League game in the Hamptons a day after the story about his stepfather became public, the New York Post reported. Jack, a star shortstop on his Sag Harbor squad, missed a July 14 game when his mother skipped town with Jack and his stepsister, Sailor. Minus Jack, Sag Harbor lost, earning Southampton a spot in the playoffs.
Denise Richards insists she didn’t hook up with Richie Sambora until the rocker and his wife, Heather Locklear, had split. Richards, close to a divorce from Charlie Sheen, told Harper’s Bazaar magazine her friendship with Locklear had ended. “If I was still friends with Heather, I wouldn’t have crossed that line,” Richards said. “I wasn’t looking to fall in love with anyone. But at the same time, when Richie and I got together, I couldn’t pass it up. I know how hard it is to meet a great guy.”
Andy Dick’s bizarre behavior at Comedy Central’s roast of William Shatner has gotten him banned from the New York City Underground Comedy festival next month, the New York Post reported. Dick licked the faces of Farrah Fawcett, Carrie Fisher and Patton Oswalt before groping and biting the hand of Post reporter Mandy Stadtmiller. Festival spokesman Ryan McCormick says the ban will be rescinded only if Dick wears a Hannibal Lecter mask, gets a doctor’s note saying he has had tetanus shots and agrees to buy Stadtmiller an “all-expense paid vacation to Hawaii.”
Justin Timberlake refused Lindsay Lohan entry to his concert in Los Angeles on Saturday, the Sun reported. Timberlake is worried about Lohan’s outrageous behavior. A source told the London tabloid, “The last thing his label wants is Lindsay getting drunk and making a spectacle of herself.” No word if there are similar restrictions on Tara Reid.
One of Lohan’s many alleged boyfriends, Jared Leto, is suffering with gout, skynews.com’s Sandro Monetti reports. The condition, common with the elderly, is believed to be caused by Leto’s yo-yo dieting. The actor added 62 pounds to portray John Lennon’s killer, Mark David Chapman, for the film, “Chapter 27.” He then shed the pounds quickly after the film was completed.
Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton will work together on their sixth film project, according to several media reports. Depp is scheduled to play the title role in the film version of the Stephen Sondheim musical “Sweeney Todd.” Most recently, Depp and Burton worked on the box-office smash “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” which earned more than $470 million worldwide last year, according to bbcnews.com. “Sweeney Todd” should start production early next year.
Eddie Murphy and Mel B, Scary Spice of the Spice Girls, planned a trip to Disneyland so their children could meet, the Daily Mirror reported. The holiday was postponed because of the latest terror alert. Pals claim the couple, who met two months ago, already have tattoos bearing each other’s names. Murphy, 45, has five children. Mel, 31, has a 7-year-old daughter from her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar. Several reports claim the couple may marry soon.
Elizabeth Vargas gave birth to her second son, Samuel Wyatt, with her husband, singer Marc Cohn, an ABC rep confirmed to The Associated Press. Vargas, 43, stepped down as the ABC news co-anchor in May.
