The Metro State women’s basketball team signed four transfers to its roster, Roadrunners coach Dave Murphy said Wednesday.
The additions: Ashley Mickens, a 5-foot-7 guard who played her first two seasons at Air Force; Stephanie Sauter, a junior from Colorado-Colorado Springs and a graduate of Smoky Hill High School; Paula Bruzewski, a 5-6 guard from Otero Junior College and a graduate of Valley High School; and 5-11 forward Cassondra Bratton, from the University of Denver and Pomona High School.

Adams State, defending national champion Western State and Colorado Mines begin the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s cross country season as the top three teams, respectively, in a poll released by the league.
Adams State, which finished second to Western State at the Division II championships, received seven first-place votes and is led by Jesus Solis, a graduate of ThunderRidge High School and the RMAC preseason runner of the year. Western State got four first-place votes.
Adams State, the defending women’s cross country champion, got 12 first-place votes and begins the season ranked No. 1 in the RMAC poll. Western State is No. 2, followed by Colorado-Colorado Springs at No. 3.
