DID YOU KNOW
Hooper Town Hall
The Hooper Town Hall, also known as the Howard Store, has been named to the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1891 as the Garrison & Howard General Merchandise Store. The National Register has listed the Town Hall because it is an example of a small 19th century commercial building. The store has a lengthy association with the commercial history of Hooper and was one of the town’s oldest and longest-operating general-merchandise establishments. It is not clear when the store became the Town Hall.
