A school bus driver and a student were taken to a hospital in Fort Morgan after the bus crashed into a farm tractor Thursday morning, officials said.
The bus had four children on board when it ran into a tractor used for spraying fields just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 15 and County Road JJ near New Raymer, Morgan County Undersheriff John Fryar said.
The bus had the right of way at the “uncontrolled intersection,” but the driver of the sprayer will not be cited because such farm equipment is not covered by Colorado’s motor vehicle code, said Capt. Doug Copley of the Colorado State Patrol.
The bus driver, whose name was not released, and one child were taken to the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Fryar said.
