David Letterman is staying at CBS for another four years, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Letterman is close to finalizing a contract extension for “The Late Show With David Letterman” through the 2009-10 season on CBS, sources said. The last negotiations with CBS were acrimonious as ABC courted Letterman before the funnyman signed a deal for an annual salary of about $31.5 million.
Jay Leno and his wife of 26 years, Mavis, first made love in the back seat of his 1955 Buick. Leno told Russell Crowe in Interview magazine they tried to re-create the experience in the same car. “But it’s, like, 2 o’clock in the morning, and we’re kind of near some guy’s driveway. After drinking a cup, Nichols reportedly said: “Now that’s a cup of coffee!” Leguizamo also relates a story about actress Penelope Ann Miller on the shooting of “Carlito’s Way.” “You really have to know Penelope Ann Miller to dislike her,” Leguizamo writes. Leguizamo and the wardrobe department took in Miller’s clothes – an inch at a time. “Every day her outfits are getting a little tighter, a little tighter. She goes on a starvation diet. Watch the movie; you’ll see she gets thinner and thinner.”

Marcia Cross is about to become a “desperate mother.” The Desperate Housewives” star is pregnant with her first child, due in April, her publicist confirmed. Cross, 44, and her stockbroker husband, Tom Mahoney, married in June.
Elvis Costello and his wife Diana Krall are expecting twins. Krall, 41, said twins run in her family. “I’m not kidding,” she was quoted by contactmusic.com. “I have twins on my mother’s side as well.” The babies should arrive near the couple’s third wedding anniversary Dec. 6.
Emilio Estevez and writer Sonja Magdevski are engaged, the actor-director confirmed at the Venice Film Festival. The director of the new film about Robert F. Kennedy, “Bobby,” would not say when they would marry. Estevez, 44, was married to Paula Abdul for two years before they divorced in 2004. He has two children from a relationship with model Carey Salley.
Kristin Cavalleri recently made a lame attempt to get back at her ex-boyfriend, Brody Jenner. The New York Post reports the “Laguna Beach” star made sure paparazzi snapped her in a “You Can Have Him” T-shirt at a recent event. Jenner is dating another reality star, Nicole Richie, who was engaged to Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein. Last week at a Guess party with Goldstein, a source told the Post, Cavalleri followed him to Tenjune and Bungalow 8, where she chatted him up until 3 a.m. Goldstein’s rep said “AM is dating – but not (Cavalleri). They are just friends.”
