Lionel Richie has found a new full-time job: Making sure his rail-thin daughter Nicole eats. Quoted by contactmusic.com, Richie said he checks regularly at mealtime to make sure she’s eating. “I’m all over her every day, ‘Meet me for lunch. Meet me for dinner,”‘ Lionel said.
Gordon Ramsay blasted Parisians for a horrid experience during his chef apprenticeship in the French capital, contactmusic.com reported. Ramsay trained under Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon in Paris. While launching his first restaurant in New York, The London NY, Ramsay said, “I am not trying to take New York by storm. I would love to go back to Paris, to be honest. You know how arrogant the French are – extraordinary. They make us all look so normal. I got such abuse there, I was like a tortured child. So the idea is to go back to Paris, staff the restaurant all with English and call it Roast Beef.”
Susan Sarandon surprised several customers at Welsh pub recently when the actress dropped by for a Guinness and a cigarette, the Melbourne Herald-Sun reported. Sarandon popped into the Llynfi Arms in Tondu, near Bridgend, South Wales. The tavern’s landlord, Terry Griffiths, said Sarandon was trying to trace relatives of her great-great-
grandfather, John Charles Guyatt, who died in 1876. “Three living relatives were eventually traced to Bridgend and they almost didn’t turn up to the pub to meet Susan Sarandon because they thought it was a (prank),” Griffiths said.
Andre Agassi got a retirement gift on a recent visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The talk show host gave the retiring tennis star coupons to the Sizzler restaurant and a shuffleboard set. “Nothing says retirement like shuffleboard,” DeGeneres joked. DeGeneres, who last week was named to host the 79th Annual Academy Awards show on Feb. 25 next year, also joked about a three-car accident that involved two photographers who were following her. “It’s good to have paparazzi around when you’re in a car accident,” she said on a show last week.
