Leadville springs into action with fall St. Patrick’s Day
Because Leadville, at more than 10,000 feet in elevation, is always snowy and cold in March, the town celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a “practice” parade when it is warmer, on the Saturday closest to Sept. 17. This year’s parade starts at noon Saturday at about Ninth and Harrison streets and travels down Harrison. Along with the parade, the celebration will include green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and music.
