
Is Tom Cruise cranking up his legal team to sue porn producer Paul Barresi over his tell-all book, “Pellicano’s Enforcer”? The book about the jailed former private-eye-to-the-stars Anthony Pellicano allegedly includes a story about Cruise’s sex life. Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, told MSNBC.com, Barresi’s allegations are “utterly, 100 percent false” and “we can prove it.”
A dream Marc Anthony had inspired Jennifer Lopez’s first single on her Spanish-language album, “Como Ama Una Mujer,” she told MTV News. Anthony’s dream featured late Spanish star Rocio Durcal singing “a song for Jennifer.” Durcal died of cancer just two weeks before she appeared in Anthony’s dream. After Anthony awoke, he made Lopez sing “Que Heciste” into their answering machine.
Katie Couric finally blew her stack over the CBS publicity department’s gaffe of digitally shaving 20 pounds off the “CBS Evening News” anchor’s promotional photos. A source told the New York Post, Couric “ripped into (publicity boss) Gil Schwartz.” Couric’s rep said, “Everything is fine between Katie and Gil now. She was upset, and now she’s not.”
Paris Hilton and former blink-182 drummer Travis Barker keep saying they are not a couple. But during Fashion Week in New York, the two were locking lips at Marquee early Wednesday morning, the New York Daily News reported. Hilton allegedly held up her runway walk until Barker arrived. Earlier, Hilton denied a Los Angeles sighting of the two smooching.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have named their second son Sutton Pierce Federline, the Sun in London reported. The reason? To match the same initials of his brother, Sean Preston Federline, who turned 1 Thursday.

Season 2 “American Idol” reject Corey Clark has been arrested in Yuma, Ariz., for violating a court order and trespassing at his father-in-law’s residence, tmz.com reported. A Yuma Sheriff’s Department officer confirmed Clark “was charged with two misdemeanors, one for criminal trespassing and the other for violating a court order” on July 23.
Bob Woodruff is planning to return to work this fall, according to the ABC News blog, The World Newser, which posted a letter by the former anchor’s wife, Lee. Woodruff, the former “World News Tonight” co-anchor, suffered severe head and brain injuries last January when a roadside bomb exploded while he was reporting from Baghdad.
Some happy news: “Fox & Friends” anchor Kiran Chetry got some unexpected help from a celebrity recently. Taking her 7-month-old Maya on an uptown subway, Chetry discovered the elevator was out of order. Chetry told the New York Post she asked a woman for help up the stairs. The good Samaritan said, “Sure.” At the top of the stairs Chetry realized the helpful woman was none other than “Sex and the City” actress Cynthia Nixon.
