Q: Very confused….

What’s the deal with so many singles chasing and having “serious” relationships with married people? I know too many singles (both men and women) that consider themselves deeply in love and off the market with someone married.

As a divorced woman, I find it mind-boggling that so many men I meet are in the love triangle and not truly available for single women. What’s a single woman to do and how do we compete when the playing field is so skewed? I guess married just means not available every single night of the week

Sad

SCOTT: Great question and I get what you mean. You know how sometimes what’s on someone else’s plate looks better? Well it’s sort of like that and love triangles are far more common than we might think.

There are even MBA (Married but Available) websites to hook all these freaks up! Some women go after married men for the forbidden challenge; some do it for the excitement. Just take a woman/man with a fear of commitment and add one attention-starved married man/woman and you’ve got an instant love triangle!

The good news is not everyone’s that way and I know that you know better than to mingle with “singles” that are not really available. All too often the fling ends when the married person doesn’t leave their spouse for the single person and the fantasy of the whole thing fizzles.
