Best meal: Pub food anywhere. English pubs are not just for drinking, but most serve outstanding meals. For lunch, order “takeaway” anywhere instead of eating in. It will save you considerable expense. Cornish meat pasties are especially tasty. Sausage rolls abound.
Best deals: Buy the 7-Day Travel Cards for the London Tube and buses. You’ll only need Zones 1 and 2 to see most London sites. And check out the half-price theater tickets on sale daily in Leicester Square (three blocks from Trafalgar Square).
