A man was shot to death by a co-worker at a construction site in Parker this morning, authorities said.

Police are looking for 33-year-old Richard Jaime Sanchez who may be driving a white 1991 Mazda four-door sedan with Colorado license plate 530MPF.

Sanchez has a mustache and short, dark brown hair and a scar above his right eye.

He was wearing blue jeans, a charcoal gray sweatshirt and construction boots, said Elise Penington, spokeswoman for the Town of Parker.

The shooting occurred about 7:45 a.m. as the victim was getting his tools out and ready to work, Penington said. The construction site is near Longs Way and Dransfeldt Road.

It was not immediately clear what precipitated the shooting, she said.

The victim was shot several times by the gunman, Penington said.

Schools in the area were locked down after the shooting and Douglas County sheriff’s brought in search dogs to find the gunman.

The name of the victim was not released because his family had not been notified yet.
