Running back Laurence Maroney of the New England Patriots had the best day of his young career Sunday, a 15-carry, 125-yard, two- touchdown performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Corey Dillon had more carries but should be phased out slowly over the rest of the season. Maroney isn’t available in very many leagues, but after the performance he put up Sunday, some owners might try to trade him while his value is high.
LaMont Jordan had the best fantasy performance of any Raider this season (128 yards rushing and a touchdown), but that was mostly due to Oakland’s easing young quarterback Andrew Walter into service. With Walter’s 9-of-23 performance, for 68 yards, the game plan won’t change too quickly. Unfortunately for Jordan owners, the Raiders won’t be facing Cleveland and its suspect defense again.
