DENVER – The Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau predicted at its annual membership meeting Thursday that a record number of tourists would once again flock to the city in coming years.
The convention bureau said it has 842 future conventions on the books, valued at $2.2 billion. It also said it has confirmed the American Institute of Architects annual meeting for 2013, which will bring 22,000 people to town.
Bureau members also approved next year’s board of directors, with Rus Heise, senior vice president for RBC Dain Rauscher, as the new chairman.

Dave & Buster’s vows to boost accessibility
The Dave & Buster’s restaurant chain said Thursday it is looking into whether its Denver and Westminster restaurants are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
“If needed, Dave & Buster’s will make the appropriate changes necessary to ensure our stores meet ADA guidelines,” said Lee Pitts, senior vice president of operations for the chain’s western region.
The Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition sued Dave & Buster’s in federal court in Denver on Tuesday, claiming that the restaurants’ barrooms and parking areas are inadequate for disabled people.
