Matthew McConaughey has been caught in recent months training feverishly with buddies Lance Armstrong and Jake Gyllenhaal. Now we know what all the sweat was for: The Sun in London reports McConaughey has been doing a workout video the past three months. Armstrong, the seven-
time Tour de France winner and a fellow Texan, joined the actor on weekend beach training sessions at the Malibu pad they share. “Matt wants to create a lifestyle and fitness video for men,” a source told the Sun. “He couldn’t produce a video giving you promises of an amazing physique if he looked pudgy and untoned himself.”
Speaking of Armstrong, apparently there is no romance brewing with Ivanka Trump, daughter of billionaire Donald Trump. The two friends went on “several dates,” sources told People magazine, but the relationship never got further than that. Trump, 24, is vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization. She and Armstrong, 35, met at a charity event in Los Angeles a few months ago.
Jessica Simpson sleeps on the floor in her battle with insomnia. The singer-actress told Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” that she recently sought advice to get a better night’s rest. “It’s more of a mental thing. I tell myself, ‘I cannot fall asleep, there’s no way if I get into bed right now I’m gonna fall asleep.’ I end up just lying on the floor and falling asleep. … That’s advice that I’ve gotten – don’t ever get into bed until you know that it’s time to go to sleep, or else you’ll lie there, and that’s when you start tossing and turning.”
Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie tells Shape magazine she incorporates workouts and spending time with her boyfriend, actor Josh Duhamel. “We go on nature hikes in the hills, which I love because of the views,” she said. “And it’s a great way to spend time together.”
