LOUISVILLE, Ky.-
Four children whose father is accused of killing them had their throats slit with a hunting knife, the Jefferson County coroner said Monday.
Two of the children suffered defensive wounds on their arms and wrists as they attempted to fight back, Coroner Ron Holmes said.
A knife believed to be used in the killings was found at the family’s apartment, Louisville police Lt. Steve Green said.
Said Biyad walked into police headquarters Friday morning and told police, “I just killed my family.”
Biyad, 42, was charged with four counts of murder in the deaths of the children, who ranged in age from 2 to 8.
He also was accused of attacking his wife, Fatuma Amir, and is charged with one count each of attempted murder, domestic rape and first-degree assault.
She was being treated at University of Louisville Hospital. Family requested that no information be released about her condition.
