Why are you running? As a teacher and a father, I will fight hard to preserve our great quality of life in Lakewood.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institute you seek to represent?
1. The health care crisis – 770,000 uninsured.
2. Moving our education system into the 21st century.
3. Energy that is transportation, environment and business friendly.
What is your top priority in the next session if you should win? I will use my experience as a classroom teacher to advocate for sensible reform to our school accountability and funding systems.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? There was a proposal to lower standards for principals. This was a bad idea. We should increase administrator education, training, support and funding.
What proposal in the last session did you agree with the most? I was able to combine my passion for education with my concern for health care by passing HB1396, funding for school-based health clinics.
