How long have you lived in Colorado? Where did you live before?
I moved to Colorado 41 years ago in 1965 from Florida.
Last book read: “Cries from the Cross”
Civic Involvement: Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Board of Directors of Twin Peaks Charter Academy, other volunteer activities with children and adults
Major endorsements: Boulder County Republicans
Why are you running? As a 38-year resident of Boulder County, I want to give the citizens of House District 11 a choice of representatives.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?
1) Fiscal responsibility (living within the budget and spending the taxpayers’ money wisely). Keeping taxes at present rates or below is vital to the well being of hard working Colorado families and individuals.
2) Respecting the good laws of our state and country and applying those laws equally to all people is necessary for an orderly society.
3) Respecting the rights of all people (including the unborn, disabled, and elderly) to live and assuming a wish to live if they are unable to communicate their wishes.
What is your top priority in the next session if you should win?
Fiscal responsibility in all areas of state government.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? House Bill 1212, which would have allowed (and perhaps forced) pharmacists to dispense medicine to prevent conception or to prevent a newly fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus without a prescription. Governor Owens vetoed this bill.
What proposal in the last session did you support the most? The bill which put restrictions on private toll roads and their ability to take land by eminent domain.
