Jessica Simpson says a third-anniversary trip to Africa led her to rethink her relationship with then-husband Nick Lachey. According to the Sun in London, Simpson went to Africa on behalf of Operation Smile, which helps children with facial deformities. “I went there on our three-year wedding anniversary. He stayed home. On that day, everything became so clear. I was in hospitals with all these sick kids, and I was looking at the beauty of this whole different world. I just knew I needed to find something more in my life – on my own.” Soon after, Simpson asked Lachey for a divorce.
O.J. Simpson is writing a “hypothetical” book tentatively called “If I Did It,” according to the National Enquirer. Simpson hypothetically confesses to killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. Simpson will be paid $3.5 million, the Enquirer claims. Simpson, acquitted of the double murder in 1995, is not admitting he played a part in their deaths, but does provide gruesome details of the murders, the tabloid reported.
Country singer Sara Evans, who recently filed for divorce from her husband, Craig Schelske, claiming he is perverted, reportedly once promised to kill him if she caught him cheating on her. TMZ.com uncovered an interview from last year with New York radio station WPLJ-FM. Scott & Todd, the show’s hosts, asked Evans – promoting her single “Cheating” – what she would do if she ever caught her husband with another woman. Evans responded, “You know, I’d kill him – but that’s never going to happen, I have a great guy.” Evans states in court documents that Schelske had an affair with the couple’s nanny and had photos of himself having sex with other women and had at least 100 nude photos of himself in a state of arousal.
Haley Joel Osment has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges stemming from a July car crash, tmz.com reported. According to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, Osment pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana and was sentenced to three years probation, 60 hours of alcohol rehabilitation and three months of AA meetings, plus a fine of $1,500. Osment lost control of his 1995 Saturn on his way home and struck a brick pillar around 1 a.m. on July 20. He suffered a broken rib and a shoulder injury.
Jeffrey Sebelia, winner of Bravo’s third edition of “Project Runway,” told TVGuide.com that, while he was away doing the show, his girlfriend and son had quite a project in their Los Angeles home. “I got a call the first week I was (on “Project Runway”), and the main water pipe had burst in our house. The basement flooded, and we lost all the water pressure. One of our dogs attacked the other dog, and my girlfriend had to take it to the vet, and both my son and my girlfriend got the flu … all in a matter of days.” Included in his winnings was $100,000 to kick-start his fashion business. But Sebelia will have to pay for that broken pipe. “That’s right! That’s $15,000!”
Sofia Coppola is seven months pregnant with her first child – a daughter, she has revealed to USA Today. Coppola’s boyfriend, Thomas Mars, a singer for the French band Phoenix, is the child’s father.
