Why are you running? I work on the front lines of public policy. I see first hand how policy affects children and families. I have conducted listening tours of my district. I am a true representative.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?
Public education suffers from under-funding and misuse of assessment tools.
770,000 Coloradans are uninsured.
The economy – a very high percentage of our businesses in Colorado are small businesses. We need to recruit new businesses to Colorado with a well educated employee base, a new energy economy, and helping small business owners to be able to afford healthcare coverage for their employees.
What is your top priority in the next session if you should win? I have equal concerns and priorities between healthcare and education. I hope to serve on the education committee and the Health and Human Services committee.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? Joe Stengel’s 65% classroom expenditure proposal.
What proposal in the last session did you agree with the most? SB – 01 – creating a purchasing pool for prescription drugs so that we, as a State, could stop theoretically purchasing our prescription drugs at “Saks Fifth Avenue.”
