A man found wandering in Denver with a form of amnesia has been reunited with his family and friends.
Jeff Ingram, 40, flew to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington early Monday morning and was greeted by his girlfriend, Penny Hansen.
“They’re in the process of getting reacquainted,” said Marilyn Meehan, a family spokesman.
Ingram disappeared from Olympia, Wash., on Sept. 6 while driving to Alberta, Canada, to visit his parents.
At a press conference last week, Ingram said he awoke the morning of Sept. 10 on a sidewalk in front of a downtown office building. He had no wallet or identification, just $8 in his pocket.
Officials dubbed him “Al.”
Police now know Ingram has dissociative fugue, a disorder in which people can’t remember some or all of their lives.
Family spotted him on TV news reports, and Hansen contacted Denver police.
He was identified through e-mailed photographs and a scar that Hansen described, police said.
Ingram, who worked as a machinist before becoming ill, will continue with medical help in Washington.
