Willis McGahee suffered a rib injury four minutes into the Bills’ game Sunday, and Anthony Thomas performed decently in his stead. If McGahee’s test results show he will need to miss some time, Thomas can be found on the waiver wire of most leagues, and should be able to provide help for teams desperate for a running back. He is a solid veteran presence who was able to rush for more than 1,000 yards in 2001 and 2003 for the Bears.
The Bears’ collapse in Miami on Sunday could have owners of Rex Grossman worried. The cold months in Chicago have arrived, and passing at Soldier Field is always tougher when the temperature drops. Tony Romo of the Cowboys has looked efficient in his two showings since the benching of Drew Bledsoe, and he could be worthwhile if a starter falters.
