A Delta County family has reached an agreement with the Division of Wildlife for the eventual transfer of land for a shooting range. Gerhart “Casey” Stengel, 81, has operated a shooting range on his 307-acre property for rifle, shotgun and pistol shooting. Under the agreement, Stengel and his son, Chris, will live on the property and operate the range the remainder of their lives, whereupon it will be transferred to DOW. The Stengels receive state and federal tax credits for the donation.
