A chocolate anniversary

Keystone is celebrating its 36th anniversary with 36 Days of Chocolate and its annual Chocolate Village. Keystone restaurants will feature signature dishes, appetizers, drinks and even salads with a sweet chocolate twist. The 11th Chocolate Village is on display in the lobby of the Keystone Lodge. Keystone chef Ned Archibald has sculpted 2,500 pounds of chocolate into a miniature alpine village, with a working chocolate gondola and a chocolate waterfall. The village will be dismantled Jan. 2. Winter Park open with new acreage

Winter Park Resort has opened for the 2006-07 season, with 74 new acres. Early-season lift tickets are $51 for adults (ages 14-64), $29 for children (ages 6-13) and $38 for seniors (ages 65-69). Children 5 and under ski free.

Learn to ski with Tommy Moe

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is offering private ski sessions with Olympian Tommy Moe. Cost for a full day (up to five people, seven hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.), is $1,200. Half-day rates are also available. Call 800-450-0477 or e-mail groups@jacksonhole.com. For information, visit jacksonhole.com.

Mesa Verde celebration ending

The grand finale of the celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Mesa Verde as a National Park will be Dec. 9. Activities include archaeological tours, entertainment and cultural events, and a rare night-time illumination of Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House. Entrance to the park will be free after noon.
