Praco Public Relations Advertising Co. announced Wednesday that it has won the account of Grupo Posadas, the largest Mexican hotel chain operator based in Mexico.
Based in Denver and Colorado Springs, Praco will help the company promote its 93 Latin American properties to U.S. leisure and business travelers.
Last week, the agency was awarded the Xcel Energy account. Praco employs roughly 100, but recently hired three new employees in Denver and plans to add two more in the next month, president Nechie Hall said.
“We feel like we are starting off 2007 with a lot of energy,” she said.
To win the three-year Xcel account, the firm beat out 15 other agencies in Denver and Minneapolis.
“They had definitely done their homework on who our customer is and how we can better communicate with them,” said Meghan Walsh, manager of advertising and brand for Xcel.
Other Praco clients include The Broadmoor, Jenny Craig and Centura Health.
Praco held the Colorado Tourism Office contract for the past six years, but lost it in September to Kansas City, Mo.-based MMG Worldwide.
“We hate to lose any business, but Praco has always had a very solid, strategic plan,” Hall said. “We’re going to have a record year this year, and it looks like next year is going to be a record year as well.”
