Volunteers of America will serve Thanksgiving dinners and distribute warm clothing donated by ARC Thrift stores from 10 a.m. to noon at Jackson’s Sports Rock Restaurant, 1520 20th St. The meal is being underwritten by Marcus Camby and his Cambyland Foundation. The Volunteers of America “Meals on Wheels” service will be expanded. Anyone 60 or older who would like a home-delivered meal should call 303-294-0111.
The Salvation Army is serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with food donated by King Soopers, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th St., Exhibit Hall B, entrance on Welton Street. Smokey Jackson’s BBQ Restaurant is having its first “Thanks for Giving” dinner for needy families. The restaurant will provide meals for about 500 people to take home.
