A father driving his 14-year-old daughter to school in the snowstorm this morning was killed instantly when his car slid into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

The daughter, a student at Cherokee Trail High School, was trapped inside the car and had to wait for rescue workers to use cutters to remove her from the wreckage, according to Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies.

The father, Mahendra Parmar, 48, was driving southbound on South Himalaya Street in Aurora around 7:30 a.m. when he lost control and slid into the northbound pickup truck, driven by Howard Metz, 44, of Aurora, deputies said. Both Metz and the daughter were taken by ambulance to Aurora South Medical Center for treatment.

Sheriff Grayson Robinson said the investigation showed that driver’s side of the car, a Honda Accord, slid into the front of the Ford F-150 pickup truck. Rescue workers said Parmar was unresponsive when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
