Just one month into her job as chief executive of the DIA Partnership, Mary Rose Loney says she is enthusiastic about the economic opportunities provided by Denver International Airport.
Loney and DIA manager Turner West addressed members of the DIA Partnership at a luncheon Tuesday at the Denver Renaissance Hotel. During her talk, Loney emphasized the economic impact of the airline industry and outlined her priorities for the partnership.
“DIA is our region’s treasure and, more importantly, the key to future economic growth and development in our region,” she said.
The partnership’s three priorities for 2007 are supporting the DIA master-plan update, focusing on the aviation industry as an opportunity for job growth and being involved in public- policy measures that affect the region surrounding the airport.
Loney took over as chief executive and president of the DIA Partnership on Nov. 1. She worked as an aviation- industry consultant and airport manager before succeeding Julie Bender as head of the partnership.
