Long-distance runaround
The schedule for the Broncos is a killer for those fans living out of Denver more than 200 miles away. First there are the games on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The games start at 2:15 p.m. and end about 5:15 p.m. Forget it if you have family plans.
Now add the two schedule changes to 6:15 p.m. for the San Diego and Seattle games. Add the cost of a motel or the drive that gets you home after 1 a.m. Anybody living on the Western Slope should just decide on three or four games lost.
Nice way to treat your season-ticket owners who guarantee television for everyone else. Think about it, Pat Bowlen. When you change a schedule there should be compensation for those ticket owners unable to attend.

Don’t rush to judgment
Let’s give Jay Cutler and Dan Hawkins a fair chance.
Cutler will make some mistakes and might not be the second coming of John Elway right away, if at all. But Shanahan gave Jake Plummer 46 games to prove himself, and Cutler ought to have a similar chance.
As for Hawkins, keep in mind this year’s CU team was Gary Barnett’s team. The team Hawkins put together, Boise State, went undefeated.
