2:15 p.m., Cowboys by 3 1/2

Last meeting

Giants won 36-22 at Dallas on Oct. 23.

Spotlight on: Cowboys QB Tony Romo

You don’t suppose Bill Parcells is kicking himself for not opening the season with Romo under center, do you? Nah, didn’t think so. Mr. Jessica Simpson – OK, for the record, he’s denying the two are an item – can play a little. His mobility has brought a new dimension to the Cowboys’ playbook. Cowboys were 3-3 when he took over for Drew Bledsoe. They’ve won four out of five since, with the lone loss a fluke at Washington. If Romo continues his outstanding play, Cowboys could supplant Bears as team to beat in the NFC.

Who knew?

Eli Manning was the 23rd-ranked passer in the league in 2005. So where does he rank this year? That would be 23rd. Other than that, he has drastically improved. With their injury situation, the Giants can ill afford having their quarterback make mistakes. But there’s Manning with those 15 interceptions in 11 games. He has thrown 32 since the start of last season, twice as many as his big bro.

Etc.

Parcells 4-5 career vs. his old team. … Giants coming off gut-wrenching 24-21 loss at Tennessee, a game in which they led 21-0 with nine minutes left. … Romo the second-most famous NFL quarterback from Eastern Illinois. Mike Shanahan played there back in the day. … Not that Cowboys are gittin’ ‘er done on both sides of the ball, but they rank fourth in the league in offense and D. … G-Man TB Tiki Barber aims for third straight 100-yard vs. Cahboas. … Why do teams tolerate T.O.? Because he can play, that’s why. Witness those seven touchdowns in his past seven games. … Don’t look now, but Giants are tied with Jets for the most mediocre record in New York.

Prediction: Cowboys 31, Giants 24
