Golden-based Isonics Corp., a specialty-chemical and advanced-materials company, will ask shareholders next month to approve an increase in the number of shares of common stock and execute a reverse stock split aimed at boosting the company’s sagging share price, according to a regulatory filing Tuesday.

“Currently, we have insufficient remaining capitalization to accomplish our corporate objectives,” wrote the company, explaining the need to increase the number of authorized shares to 175 million. Shareholders will vote on the proposals at the company’s annual shareholder meeting Jan. 2.

uguese and British market watchdogs said it was satisfied.
