Rachael Ray is going into outer space – or at least her food will. The Food Network star and syndicated talk-show host concocted several recipes for the Discovery space shuttle that launched Saturday night. The seven-person crew can choose Ray’s Spicy Thai Chicken with Red Peppers and Basil, Vegetable Curry in a Hurry or Swedish Meatballs, according to a news release from KingWorld Productions, the company behind her talk show. All meals passed microbiological testing and were adjusted to fit shuttle requirements. Ray visited the Johnson Space Center in Houston in August, learning how food is altered into a freeze-dried state.
Illinois Sen. (and presidential hopeful?) Barack Obama gave Cindy Adams of the New York Post a peek at his holiday plans: “Every year I go to Hawaii. I take my family, and we visit my mother and sister. It’s our ritual. And I pitch in on the cooking. I’m pretty good on the cooking. Like I’ll do chicken, but my specialty is a mean chili.”
Kevin Federline, bless his heart, is trying to change his image. At a recent New York book-signing party, K-Fed wore a suit jacket and button-down shirt, ditching his tank top. David Matalon and Chris Woolsey were launching their how-to book “The Concise Guide to Sounding Smart at Parties.” But a partygoer squealed to the New York Post, saying “(Federline) and his buddies went to the bar and pounded Everglo liquor shots for the rest of the night. They were really there for the free booze.”
Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian supermodel, admits she loves cheeseburgers. According to bangshowbiz.com, Bundchen said: “I like meat, real meat. It’s delicious.” But she said rigorous exercise keeps her figure trim. “I’m very athletic, so I guess because of that I get to eat what I want.”
