The southern half of the state will be under snow and storm warnings from tonight through late Tuesday night. Up to a foot of snow could fall in the higher elevations, particularly in the San Juan Mountains. Chain laws are already in effect for Wolf Creek and Monarch passes.
East of the mountains, the storm and snow warnings extend north up Interstate 25 all the way to the Air Force Academy and Monument Hill. As much as 6 inches of snow could fall in lower elevations east of the mountains.
The northern half of the state should have hazy and chilly weather today, with high temperatures only in the 30s.
The Denver metropolitan area could receive some snow flurries by Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
