Fort Collins police have issued a nationwide alert after the suspected kidnapping of a woman.
Jennifer Courtney, 35, called 911 on Monday afternoon, claiming that a man she described as her “ex” was breaking in. She said she was hiding in the bathroom, then the line went dead.
When police arrived at the home in the 1600 block of Palm Drive, they found a male victim who said he’d been choked into unconsciousness by the man, identified as “Mark.” He said when he awoke, both Courtney and the suspect were gone.
The man is Courtney’s son. She was visiting him when the incident began.
Police found evidence of a struggle, including a damaged bathroom door and front window.
Police identified the suspect as Mark Tuckel, 34, of Larkspur.
A witness described his truck, a white, 1995 Chevy pickup, license plate 647-DID with a silver tool box in the back. Police say it has a distinctive “spider web” style tail gate, rather than a metal gate.
Police believe Tuckel is still in Colorado. He faces attempted 2nd degree murder, burglary, kidnappping and domestic violence charges.
