
Alexa Garfinkel is a sophomore at Cherry Creek High School.
She is an elected officer in the Diversity Task Force, an organization that teaches and shares diversity and tolerance within the school. She was invited to sit on a diversity panel for new teachers at Cherry Creek High and also sat on a panel for student-teachers at the University of Denver.
Alexa is a Student Ambassador for People to People. This summer she will travel to Australia with 40 other students as representatives of the United States.
She is an honor student and was recently invited to be part of the National Honor Society.
She plays soccer and this year will try out for goalkeeper.
Alexa has been deaf from birth. She gives presentations to children on what it is like to be deaf and volunteers for charity whenever she can, including with her father’s service organization, Centennial Rotary.
Alexa plans to attend college after high school, possibly studying to be an engineer. Her interests are math, chemistry and electronics.
