Don’t put those snovels and snowblowers away just yet! Even as Denver residents are still digging out of the snow dumped last week, forecasters are predicting another storm beginning Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter Storm Watch which will be in effect from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon.

A strong upper level Pacific storm system will track south near the Four Corners region, then across the southern Rocky Mountains and into the Great Plains.

The storm will produce widespread upslope snowfall against the eastern slopes of the Front Range and adjacent plains beginning late Thursday morning continuing through Friday.

Accumulations of 8 inches or more are expected throughout the Denver metro area and into the plains, according to the National Weather Service.

The heaviest snowfall will be near the eastern foothills and over the Palmer Divide. Strong, gusty winds will produce lots of blowing and drifting snow on the plains and Palmer Divide.

The National Weather Service also warns area residents to be prepared to adverse traffic conditions resulting from snow and temperatures around freezing.
