CLUBS
What are you doing
New Year s
Eve?
Save the resolutions
for New Year s Day. The clubs are
gearing up to ring in 2007 in fine style and
say goodbye to the passing year.
The Church: 10 years
Management at The Church is requesting
black-tie attire for this year s New Year s
Eve event. Denver s perennial favorite
dance club hit the 10-year mark this year and
the party and dress code will be in
keeping with the occasion. An open bar
from 8 to 10 p.m. will assure a properly lubricated
dance scene, and the duo of B-rad and
DJ Sabotage, aka Manufactured Superstars,
will mash up 80s and 90s pop hits with
their signature big banging beats to keep the
dance floor shaking well past the midnight
hour.
$30 advance; groovetickets.com, or $50 at
the door, 1160 Lincoln St. 303-832-2383.
Break out the bubbles
As downtown s only Champagne bar, it s
no surprise that Corridor 44 will break out
the bubbly in a big way for New Year s Eve.
They ll roll out a seven-course meal with
champagne pairings at 6 and 8 p.m., and after
10 p.m. the bubbles bar is open to anyone
who wants to belly up and sip the good stuff.
Tickets $150/ dinner, $50/ party only. 1433 Larimer
St. 303-893-0044.
Sutra Room s opening
The VIP preview parties started earlier
this week, but tonight the intimate club
opens to the public, and crowds of curious
lounge lovers will carouse and canoodle in
the 12 bottle-service booths all weekend.
Reservations for the booths on New
Year s Eve filled up earlier this week, but
you can still swing by to soak in the ambiance
at the main bar. No cover. 1109 Lincoln
St., 720-771-5280.
Winter Wonderland
The Funky Buddha is offering a rare treat
this New Year s Eve. Skip the cover and visit
The Winter Wonderland party for free. The
downstairs lounge will be decorated as Alice s
Wonderland, with a winter-white Winter
Wonderland on the covered rooftop
deck. 776 Lincoln St., 303-832-5075.
Bikini bash
Bring your black-tie best and your bikini
for the White Rose Gala at the Westin Resort
Hotel in Westminster. Party boy Kevin
Larson and his new Prey Nightlife venture
have put together an all-nighter where the
dress code becomes progressively more casual
as the early hours of 2007 begin to roll
in. It starts as a black-tie optional cocktail
party in the lobby, and changes into a full
blown dance party as DJs MLE, Ben A., Brian
Howe, and Cinful rock the floor before and after
midnight. In the wee hours, the party
moves to the pool room for a bikini fashion
show, hot tub party, and hangover breakfast
that will continue until 11 a.m. on New
Year s Day. $60 event; room packages start
at $129. kevinlarsonpresents.com
On Safari
Celebrate with the home team at the Safari
New Year s Eve bash at The Shelter. Denver
Broncos Tatum Bell, D.J. Williams, Darrent
Williams, and Brandon Marshall host the party
along with Denver Nuggets J.R. Smith and
DerMarr Johnson; DJ Chief Rocka of The Radio
Bums holds down the turntables.
$20 advance at groovetickets.com. 1037
Broadway, 303-534-0222.
Professional partiers
Mynt (1424 Market St.), Monarck (1416
Market St. )and 5 Degrees (1475 Lawrence
St.) are offering a three-in-one Passport
package for New Year s Eve. The $60 all-access
VIP passport allows guests to skip the
lines at the three sister clubs, and bottle-service
packages range from a $240 Up and
Coming package (one bottle of champagne
or vodka and waived cover for four) to the
$800 Entourage package (magnum bottles
of champagne and vodka plus seating and
waived cover for four.)
