Long renowned as the most reliable resource for online weather and avalanche forecasts in the mountains, the recently redesigned Colorado Avalanche Information Center website () is now also among the easiest to interact with. A color-coded map of the mountains greets browsers on the home page, quickly indicating the avalanche danger statewide. Click your cursor on a particular zone, and you’ll be redirected to a page laying out clear and concise weather, snowpack and avalanche expectations for the coming days. Accidents and observations are also updated regularly alongside links to backcountry educational opportunities, including an online class offered by the Canadian Avalanche Association. The information is free, although donations are accepted and appreciated. Log on to find out more.
